Maynard
Maynard J Keenan is a Grammy award-winning vocalist for the internationally
revered music acts Tool, A Perfect Circle, and the multimedia cabaret troupe
Puscifer. Keenan is the winemaker and owner of Caduceus Cellars and Merkin
Vineyards, as well as the newly unveiled, Merkins Vineyard’s Hilltop Winery &
Trattoria with farm to table food and wine from their vines. With 110 acres under
vine throughout the state, Maynard also created the Four 8 Wineworks, named
after Arizona the 48th state, was created to shine a light on, and help establish,
emerging small production Arizona winegrowers,” said owner& winemaker MJ
Keenan.
A founding board member of the Arizona Vignerons Alliance, a quality control and
winegrowers data collection collective. He has been a participating member of the
Arizona Winegrowers Association since 2009. Keenan, turning 60 in April 2024,
was born in Ohio, and grew up in West Michigan working in and on the local
orchards and farms. He has lived in Jerome, Arizona since 1995, has two children,
and runs his multiple businesses with the indispensable help of his wife Jennifer
Lei Li Keenan.
